In this role, you will focus on developing, integrating, and optimizing digitalized processes within forest-based, biogenic value creation networks. Special attention will be given to interfaces and human work in the context of Industry 4.0 approaches, aiming to automate machines and processes using methods like sensor technology and data-driven technologies in forestry. The research emphasizes sustainability, resource efficiency, climate and biodiversity protection in wood and non-wood product production, along with providing ecosystem services.
Teaching responsibilities include contributions to bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in “Forestry Sciences” and “Wood Technology and Wood Management,” as well as other TUD programs. Key content areas involve automation of forestry processes, the utilization of data-driven methods, forest development planning, stand treatment, and personnel management influenced by digitalization.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate a willingness and ability to secure DFG projects and actively participate in collaborative research. Alongside existing competencies, a focus on developing participatory and collaborative research methods is expected.
