Fully Funded Scholarship by Abel Prize 2024

Fully Funded Scholarship by Abel Prize 2024 is open now. The Abel Visiting Scholarship Program offers a fully funded opportunity for international scholars to continue their post-doctoral research in mathematics on an international platform. Funded by the Abel Prize in Mathematics and administered by the Commission for Developing Countries of the International Mathematical Union, this program allows scholars to pursue their research sabbatical abroad up to three times a year, with grants available for periods of up to one year. It targets post-doctoral mathematicians in the early stages of their careers, providing them with a vital opportunity for a ‘research sabbatical’ to complement their teaching and academic responsibilities.

This scholarship program is highly anticipated and prestigious, addressing the lack of funding opportunities in mathematics and aiming to bridge financial gaps experienced by mathematicians, especially those in developing countries. Through collaboration between the Commission for Developing Countries and the International Mathematical Union, annual grants are awarded to support mathematicians’ research abroad. The program seeks to tap into the valuable mathematical resources in the developing world by enabling mathematicians to conduct research internationally at no cost.

The Abel Visiting Scholar Program is unique, offering scholars from developing countries a chance to visit international research collaborators for one month under fully funded arrangements. This experience not only enhances their research capabilities but also facilitates the development of an international network that is otherwise challenging to establish. By engaging with mentors and researchers worldwide, scholars can think innovatively and employ diverse techniques to achieve significant research outcomes during their one-month tenure. This outstanding opportunity is invaluable for scholars seeking to advance their research in mathematics within a global context.
