Notably, this leadership and exchange initiative, hosted in the United States, serves as a global platform for individuals hailing from diverse corners of the world to engage in interactive sessions and mutual learning experiences. Facilitated by the U.S. Department of State and funded by the U.S. Government, the IREX international fellowship program selectively chooses the finest candidates, offering them a specialized curriculum and personalized coaching. Through a combination of face-to-face and virtual training, professional mentorship, and the vast network of program alumni, CSP fellows enhance their management and leadership skills.
This fully-funded fellowship entails a four-month immersion in the United States, where fellows collaborate with a multitude of partner organizations across 129 U.S. cities. The program’s diverse range of tasks provides international CSP fellows with enriching and challenging experiences. Ultimately, the CSP aims to equip these future leaders with the capabilities needed to initiate and execute community-focused programs. Over the years, CSP fellows have made substantial contributions in areas such as gender equality, advocacy, climate preservation, peace, and many other positive impacts within their respective communities. Candidates from Pakistan are also eligible to apply.

- Not a current student or involved in U.S. research projects
- Able to travel to the U.S. from August to December 2023
- Minimum two years of community development experience
- Not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Age range: 25-39 as of January 1, 2024
- Citizenship in eligible countries
- Preference for refugees engaged in community work
- Commitment to return home for at least two years after program completion.
- Proficiency in English (IELTS or TOEFL may be required)
- Reside and work in home country
- No current employment or immediate family at IREX
