Eligibility Criteria for Scholarship in Japan at Asia Pacific University (APU) 2025
- Must currently live and work in their home country.
- Need at least two years of full-time work experience after earning a bachelor’s degree.
- Must show strong English skills in both speaking and writing.
- Should be 35 years old or younger at the time of applying.
- Must be a citizen of an ADB member country and eligible for Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA).
- Should not hold dual citizenship with any developed country.
- Cannot already be enrolled in a graduate degree program.
- Family income should not exceed US$50,000 per year, and individual income should not be more than US$25,000 per year. A Certificate of Income will be required if selected.
- Ideally, should not have earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree from outside their home country.
- Must not be applying for a second master’s degree.
- Should plan to start studies at APU in September 2025.
How to Apply for Scholarship in Japan at Asia Pacific University (APU) 2025
- Applicants must first apply to APU through the online application system, which is now open for the 2025 intake for all graduate programs.
- Request consideration for the ADB scholarship within the APU Online Application.
- Submit the application before the deadline.
- Upload a Certificate of Employment from your current employer/company along with your application.
- If employed for less than two years at the current job, also submit a Certificate of Employment from the previous employer.
- Both certificates should clearly mention the start and end dates of employment, as well as the monthly or annual income.
- Alternatively, the latest Income Tax Return can be submitted to confirm the applicant’s salary.
- APU will forward the list of shortlisted applicants to the ADB Scholarship Committee, and the final scholarship decisions will be made by the ADB-JSP.
